The BCDD Funding Support Scheme is inviting applications to provide financial assistance to graduates from Backward Classes for launching and growing technology-driven startups.

The BCDD Funding Support Scheme has been introduced by the Government of Kerala to support graduates from Backward Classes in building technology-based startups. The scheme is implemented by Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) in collaboration with the Backward Classes Development Department (BCDD) to promote inclusive entrepreneurship and strengthen participation in Kerala’s startup ecosystem.
The scheme offers financial support of up to ₹10 lakhs per startup. This includes an Idea Grant of up to ₹3 lakhs for concept validation and a Productization Grant of up to ₹7 lakhs to support prototype development, market entry, and early growth activities.
To be eligible, applicants must be graduates from Backward Classes (OBC) and be between 23 and 40 years of age. For the Productization Grant, OBC founder(s) must hold at least 80% shareholding in the startup. The startup must own an innovative technology-based product.
Company incorporation as a Private Limited Company, LLP, or OPC and obtaining a KSUM Unique ID are mandatory before fund disbursal. Applicants can apply with only one idea at a time, and two grants cannot be sanctioned simultaneously.
