Deadline Date: August 21, 2026
This challenge invites startups, scale-ups, and SMEs worldwide to propose AI-driven digital solutions to modernise public finance auditing for Morocco’s General Inspectorate of Finance, with all travel and participation costs covered for selected teams.
Launched as part of the GovTech Innovation Challenge Series 2026, this program is spearheaded by Morocco’s General Inspectorate of Finance (IGF) in collaboration with the World Bank, the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), and Trust Valley. The initiative aims to foster collaboration between private sector innovators and public administrations to enhance government efficiency, transparency, and institutional capacity through digital transformation. The program leverages the expertise of global partners and the GovTech Global Community, which connects over 90 members from government, academia, and industry to share best practices in public sector innovation.
The challenge specifically seeks AI-powered solutions to modernise two critical public finance audit processes in Morocco: annual risk-based audit mission programming and intelligent public procurement auditing. Applicants are encouraged to propose integrated digital tools that address multi-criteria assessment, predictive risk monitoring, skills matching for audit teams, document intelligence, compliance analysis, and multilingual support for French and Arabic. Solutions must be capable of on-premise deployment to meet data sovereignty requirements.
Selected companies will participate in a four-day immersive GovTech Bootcamp held in Switzerland and Morocco, featuring field visits, mentoring, networking with domain experts, and workshops on regulatory compliance and scalability in public administration. The program culminates in a flagship awards ceremony in Morocco, where finalists will showcase their solutions to a global audience and engage in panel discussions on AI, digital trust, and GovTech. All travel, accommodation, and meals are fully covered for participating teams.
Eligibility is open to legally incorporated startups, scale-ups, and SMEs from any country, with fewer than 75 employees and under $5M USD in annual revenue. Applicants must demonstrate technical expertise in AI, NLP, data analytics, or public sector software, and have the capacity to develop on-premise solutions. Proposals are accepted in English or French, and at least one team member must be fluent in French.
