Applications are now open for the GAP- Regular Fund programme to strengthen Smart Agro-Ecology practices that enhance productivity, reduce environmental impact, and improve the livelihoods of smallholder farmers.
International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD) is implementing a project in India to build resilient farming communities through investments in agroecology value chains. The project will focus on identifying viable business opportunities and MSE (Micro and Small Enterprises) entrepreneurs linked to agroecology clusters and value chains, providing investment support for integrated agroecology production systems, and offering grants for MSEs and agroecology producer organization enterprises to improve their value addition and market linkages. ACCESS Development Services (ACCESS) has been assigned with the responsibility of the Fund Manager for the project.
The overall goal is to empower Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) and Agri-Enterprises (MSEs) across the country to embrace and strengthen Smart Agro-Ecology practices that enhance productivity, reduce environmental impact, and improve the livelihoods of smallholder farmers.
ACCESS is inviting interest from viable business enterprises in agri and allied value chains for making catalytic grants to help enterprises scale up and impact a higher number of smallholder producers and farmers, amplify their agro-ecological outcomes, and make them a part of sustainable food systems.
Priority will be given to youth and women entrepreneurs. Technical assistance for business and value chain development will also be provided to selected enterprises.
