The Agog Open Call Climate Futures+ Immersive Media programme is offering to support creative and technology-driven projects that use immersive media to inspire climate awareness, community engagement, and collective action.
The focus areas, include climate storytelling, civic participation, immersive media, augmented reality, mixed reality, spatial sound, smart glasses, climate awareness, climate action, community resilience, disaster response, access and equity, community-led climate leadership, repair and sovereignty, landback initiatives, planetary connection, climate anxiety, future-building, world design, public engagement, collective action, and creative climate innovation.
Agog is committing up to $1 million in grants to support innovators, artists, technologists, organizers, researchers, creative teams, organizations, and studios developing immersive media experiences focused on climate challenges and solutions. The initiative encourages projects that help people better understand climate issues while imagining more sustainable and resilient futures.
The open call welcomes proposals using immersive technologies to create engaging experiences that encourage public participation and climate engagement. Supported projects may range from early-stage concepts to more advanced productions, provided they present a compelling experience and a clear implementation approach.
Funding under the programme ranges from $25,000 to $200,000 per selected project. In addition to financial support, selected participants may also receive mentorship, advisory support, and opportunities for partnership development and distribution.
The initiative seeks projects that strengthen civic engagement, empower frontline communities, improve disaster preparedness and resilience, and deepen people’s connection with the natural environment. The programme also encourages imaginative and experimental approaches that expand public participation in climate action.
Eligible applicants include extended reality creators, mission-driven organizations, researchers, studios, companies, and creative teams. Organizations with strong climate-focused work but limited experience in immersive technologies are also encouraged to apply. Applications must be submitted through a registered organization, company, or fiscal sponsor.
