Deadline: 15 May 2025
Blue Star Limited in collaboration with Startup India, DPIIT is inviting startups, innovators, and research teams to address critical challenges in the Indian HVAC & Refrigeration industry—focusing on Make in India, cost-effective, and high-performance solutions.
Themes
- Designing Next Generation Room AC PCBAs and Controllers
- Innovative Heat Exchangers
- Alternative Compressor Technologies
- Eco-Friendly Sandwich Cold Room Panels
Problem Statement
- Designing Next Generation Room AC PCBAs and Controllers
- Create local solutions for durable, cost-effective printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) and controllers for addressing the challenges that ACs in India face wide temperature, power fluctuations, and high humidity.
- Innovative Heat Exchangers
- Develop innovative heat exchangers as compact units to address growing demand for energy-efficiency and fulfilling stricter regulations that demand better refrigerants to lower global warming potential. Copper and aluminum are used dominantly but face cost & availability fluctuations.
- Alternative Compressor Technologies
- Develop alternative compressor technologies that are more efficient, make less noise and can perform well under India’s climate extremes. At the same time, reduce reliance on imported compressors as many rotary/scroll compressors are imported, adding to cost and supply chain risks.
- Eco-Friendly Sandwich Cold Room Panels
- Develop eco-friendly Sandwich Cold Room Panels given that the conventional panels use blowing agents like 141b that have higher environmental impact and that there is scarcity of domestically produced high-performance insulation options.
