Hello Tomorrow Global Challenge (9th Edition) for Startups

Have a deep tech startup or project that uses advanced technology to answer a societal, environmental or industrial challenge? Start your application to the 9th Edition of the Hello Tomorrow Global Challenge!

The Global Challenge is a renowned international startup competition organized by Hello Tomorrow since 2014. It is uniquely designed to address the needs of early-stage deep tech startups across all industries.

The Challenge gives deep tech and science-based entrepreneurs around the globe a platform for their projects, providing opportunities for equity-free funding, global visibility and connections with key players in the deep tech ecosystem. To date, previous winners and finalists have already raised more than $3 billion in funding.

The Deep Tech Pioneers community and the Global Challenge are designed for deep tech startups or startup projects. Their goal is to promote entrepreneurs working on breakthrough technologies or scientific discoveries in any field and whose applications will lead to positive impact.

Hello Tomorrow is selecting the best projects and provides them with exposure to its international network (including investors and large industrial companies) as well as various perks and services to help them succeed.

Eligibility Criteria

  • They welcome startups that are:
    • In the early-stage of development or the beginning of their commercialization phase (up to series A)
    • Based on a new technology, a scientific discovery or a complex engineering process
    • Addressing an industrial, societal or environmental unmet need or creating a new market
    • Composed of a team of at least 2 people
    • Not a subsidiary or spin-off of an existing company
  • As a preliminary, it is specified that:
    • the Challenge and the Deep Tech Pioneers Community are reserved to startups and professionals who wish to present their project (being specified that, for the purposes of this document, the term “startups” refers to all participants, whether or not they are registered companies);
    • the application for the Challenge is reserved to startups and professionals who have not won a previous global challenge organised by Hello Tomorrow;
    • the application for the Challenge is limited to one only application per team and the application for the Deep Tech Pioneers Community is limited to one only application per team per semester.
  • In order to apply for the Challenge and / or to the Deep Tech Pioneers Community, the following requirements must be met:
    • Team Composition
      • Teams must include at least two members at the date of submission of the application,
      • Team leader should be 18 years old or older at the date of submission of the application and should have full legal capacity to participate in the Challenge and/or to join the Deep Tech Pioneers Community.
    • Project status
      • Projects (products or services) must be based on an innovative technology,
      • Project must not be a subsidiary or spin-off of an existing major company,
      • Projects must be carried by a startup (possibly at the stage of pre-incorporation), in the early stage of development or the beginning of their commercialisation phase,
      • Technology must be the original work of the participants,
      • Teams must specify the total amount of funding received at the time of their application.
