Deadline: July 14, 2026
The AI for Impact Challenge is a structured, AI-focused extension of POTRAZ’s annual Innovation Drive Challenge, adapted to meet the ambitions of the National AI Strategy and to create a stronger pipeline from ideation to implementation.
The programme, implemented through AI41 under Zimbabwe’s National Artificial Intelligence Strategy (2026–2030), invites proposals across four challenge tracks: Data, Design, Development, and Deployment, focusing on AI-ready data resources, visualisation and decision-support tools, AI-enabled products and prototypes, and responsible AI adoption and governance.
The programme seeks to strengthen Zimbabwe’s emerging AI innovation ecosystem while supporting national development priorities. Selected participants will have the opportunity to refine and validate their AI solutions with the support of expert coaches and technical partners.
Participants will also compete for selection into post-challenge incubation and support, enabling promising innovations to advance beyond the challenge stage. Funding of up to USD 80,000 is available under the programme.
To be eligible, applicants must be Zimbabwean citizens aged at least 18 years and above. Applications must be submitted by teams consisting of two to five members, and proposed solutions must address a demonstrated public, industry, or regulatory need.
