The NDE Renewed Hope Employment Initiative (RHEI) Phase 2 is an initiative of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) aimed at providing unemployed Nigerians with hands-on skills to enhance their employability and entrepreneurial capabilities.

Objectives

  • Equip young people with the tools to achieve self-reliance
  • Build a reliable stream of skilled workforce to support and drive industrial growth
  • Drive national development through skilled vocational empowerment.

Training Programmes

  • The NDE Program offer a variety of flexible training schemes, each featuring multiple skill-sets options for you to select from. participant must be between 18 – 45 year as follows. SYob 21-35, MPP – 35-45, others 18 – 40.
    • Vocational Skills Development (VSD)
      • Quick-Fix Demand Driven Scheme
        • Soap Making, Perfume Making, Paint Production, Bead Making, Production of Local Drinks, Make-up
          • Designed to provide short-term, demand-driven skills training tailored to unemployed individuals, particularly targeting youths and women
      • Community Based Training Scheme
        • Electrical Installation, Fashion Designing, GSM Repairs, Beauty Therapy, Catering, Computer Operation
          • The Community Based Training Scheme (CBTS) was designed to train youths and women in high income generating activities within their various localities
      • Digital Marketing Skills for Employment and Wealth Creation
        • Digital Marketing
          • The scheme was designed for job and wealth creation in the digital and entertainment sectors in Nigeria
      • School-On-Wheel (SOW)
        • Electrical Installation, Plumbing, Welding Works, Computer Repairs, Fashion Designing, GSM Repairs
          • This scheme is designed to bring skills acquisition training to unemployed individuals in rural areas. It utilizes well-equipped Mobile Training Workshops, furnished with essential vocational training tools. These mobile units are deployed to locations where permanent training centers are lacking or unavailable.
      • Special Vocational Training for the Persons with Special Needs
        • Plumbing, Computer Operation, Soap Making, Bead Making, Carpentry, liquid Soap making & Air Freshener, Tailoring
          • It is a special training designed for the unskilled and unemployed persons with special needs (i.e. persons with physical disabilities, sensory impairment, intellectual or developmental disorder, etc) who are willing to acquire skills as means of livelihood or for paid employment.
      • Basic-National Open Apprenticeship Scheme (B-NOAS)
        • Electrical Installation, Fashion Designing, GSM Repairs, Catering, Shoe-Leather Works, Hair Dressing
          • The Basic National Open Apprenticeship Scheme (B-NOAS) is a skills acquisition program by the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) aimed at training unemployed youths in various vocational trades. It provides hands-on training through master craftsmen and accredited training centers across the country.
      • Techno-Cultural Crafts Training Scheme
        • Crotchet, Blacksmith, Basket Weaving, Leather Work, Canoe Carving, Knitting, Tie & Dye, Mat Making, Pottery, Aluminum Pot Production, Cap Making, Raffia Mat Making, Tin Fabrication, Cloth Weaving, Drum Making, Carving Sculpture
          • Designed to equip unemployed youths with skills in indigenous cultural crafts that are highly valued in the tourism industry, the program also creates opportunities for foreign exchange earnings
      • Cloud Computing and AI Basic
        • Cloud Computing & AI Basic
    • Small Scale Enterprises (SSE)
      • Start Your Own Business (SYOB)
        • Business Training for Graduates of tertiary Institutions
          • A business training designed for unemployed graduates of tertiary institutions by providing entrepreneurship training skills for self-employment and sustainability.
      • Enterprise and Finance Counselling Clinic (NDE-efcc)
        • Entrepreneurship Counselling
          • A counselling programme for entrepreneurs with operational or managerial challenges
      • Matured People’s Programme (MPP)
        • A training for mature people who desire to establish and run or diversify their businesses
      • Job and Wealth Creation for Women
        • Food Processing and Packaging, Confectionery & Catering Services
          • A training to provide skill acquisition, entrepreneurship training and financial support to empower women economically and socially in (Food processing and catering services)
      • Micro Enterprise Enhancement Scheme (MEES)
        • A training scheme for Nano and micro business owners, enabling them to enhance their business operations.
    • Rural Employment Promotion (REP)
      • Sustainable Agricultural Development Training Scheme (SADTS)
        • Vegetable Farming, Piggery, Irrigation Farming, Poultry
          • The training is designed to impart modern and innovative Agricultural skills along its value chain to unemployed persons to become self-employed
      • Small Stock (Goat) Production Training Scheme (SSGPTS)
        • Ram, Sheep, Goat
          • The training is designed to impart modern techniques of goat, sheep and ram production and its value chain to unemployed youths
      • Microlivestock Agricultural Training Scheme (MATS)
        • Rabbitry, Snailry, Grass Cutter Rearing, Bee Keeping
          • The training is designed to impart micro livestock production along its value chain to unemployed youth and women
      • Community-Based Agricultural Training Scheme (CBATS)
        • Maize Processing, Wheat Processing, Cowpea Processing, Food Processing
          • The training is designed to impart agribusiness skills on cereal/legume production and its value chain to unemployed youth and women at using the block farming mode
      • Fish Production and Feed Formulation Training Scheme (FPFFTS)
        • Fish Production, Fish Feed Formulation
          • The training is designed to impart fish production and fish feed formulation techniques along its value chain to unemployed youth and women
      • Organic Agricultural Training Scheme (OATS)
        • Sack Farming, Green House Farming, Compost Making
          • The scheme is designed to train unemployed youth and women on the potentials of organic agriculture as an income generating activity for self-employment
    • Special Public Work (SPW)
      • Artisans in Collaborative Construction Employment Scheme (ACCES)
        • Plumbing, Paint Production, Carpentry, Masonry, Block & Kerbs Moulding, Aluminum and Metal Fabrication
          • The scheme is targeted at imparting industry-led competency skills as well as providing appropriate certification to Artisans
      • Graduate Coaching Scheme (GCS)
        • Mathematics, English, Sciences Subjects, Commercial Subjects, Art Subjects
          • The scheme is designed to create transient and permanent/sustainable employment for the unemployed graduates of tertiary institution especially those with educational background. The graduates are recruited as instructors to prepared deficiencies student for various external examinations such as JAMB, WAEC/NECO, NABTEB, GCE
      • Graduate Attachment Programme (GAP)
        • Internship
          • The scheme is designed to provide transient employment to unemployed graduates of tertiary institutions by attaching them to willing cooperate organizations
      • Environmental Beautification Training Scheme (EBTS)
        • Soft Landscape, Hard Landscape, POP
          • The scheme is designed for the training of unemployed persons in Soft/Hard Landscaping and Plaster of Paris (POP) for a period of three months
      • Solar Energy Training Scheme (SETS)
        • Solar Design, Solar Installation, Solar Maintenance
          • Under this scheme, unemployed graduates of tertiary institutions (most especially with engineering/technical knowledge) are trained to acquire Skills in Solar energy design, procurement, installation and maintenance of solar facilities.
