The ventureLAB is inviting applications from small businesses and entrepreneurs developing innovative Agri-tech and Clean-tech solutions.
The focus areas of this fund include Agri-tech, Agri-food, Clean-tech, precision agriculture, robotics and AI applications in agriculture, vertical farming, automation in the food value chain, smart food product development, food ecosystem sustainability, decarbonization, and electric vehicles.
Stream Two of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Fund supports entrepreneurship and innovation in Agri-tech and Clean-tech by providing access to capital for solutions that support social and environmental sustainability in York Region and beyond.
The fund will award seven qualified small businesses and entrepreneurs with $10,000 each to support the growth of innovative clean-tech and agri-tech solutions.
Eligible applicants must be companies incorporated and based in Canada, operating in York Region, and actively engaged or willing to engage with a York Region innovation partner for at least six months after receiving funds.
Eligible ventures must have 1–99 employees, include at least one business and one technical co-founder, be able to match the $10,000 fund, and have a minimum viable product or be at the validation stage with initial customer traction.
Applicants must be developing innovative Agri-tech, Agri-food, or Clean-tech solutions or services in eligible areas.
