The Tourism Icons Investment Fund provides capital co-funding to support significant tourism projects that create new and enhanced visitor experiences across Queensland.
The focus areas of this fund are ecotourism, adventure tourism, dark sky tourism, agritourism, coastal and marine tourism, cultural and heritage tourism, and paleo tourism.
The fund supports strategic and catalytic tourism projects that attract visitors, strengthen Queensland’s tourism offerings, and deliver economic and social benefits to communities.
Eligible projects include new large-scale attractions and experiences, ecotourism projects, island tourism redevelopment, sustainable tourism initiatives, active tourism opportunities, and projects connecting tourism with farming, food production, and rural experiences.
The Tourism Icons Investment Fund Round 2 provides funding between $1 million and $5 million (GST exclusive) for eligible applicants and projects. Funding is provided on a 1:1 co-contribution basis, requiring applicants to contribute at least 50% of total eligible project costs.
Eligible applicants include new or established tourism operators that can demonstrate active tourism operations in Queensland, hold an Australian Business Number, and are registered for GST at the time of application.
