The focus areas, of the Awards include promoting sport and physical activity as a means to support health, inclusion, inter-generational dialogue, volunteering, and peace across Europe, with activities implemented in educational establishments, workplaces, and local communities, and initiatives aimed at overcoming barriers to sport participation for people with fewer opportunities, supporting inter-generational connections through sport and physical activity, addressing social challenges, empowering disadvantaged groups, and fostering community engagement through volunteering in sport.
The Across Generations category of the #BeActive EU Sport Awards 2026 recognises sport activities implemented by organisations working across generations and contributing to stronger communities. It emphasises the role of sport in bridging generational gaps, encouraging understanding between age groups, and building stronger and more connected communities.
