The European Commission is inviting grant applications to enhance knowledge sharing and stakeholder engagement in the steel sector under the Research Fund for Coal and Steel framework.
The focus areas, of this programme include new, sustainable and low-carbon steelmaking and finishing processes, advanced steel grades and applications, conservation of resources, protection of the environment and circular economy, and management of workforce and working conditions. Within this framework, projects from all areas and domains are eligible.
This topic concerns Accompanying Measures (AMs), which aim to promote the use of knowledge gained from research activities and support the organisation of workshops and conferences linked to RFCS priorities.
The programme is designed to ensure balanced representation within project consortia, including academia, research centres, industry, industry associations, and stakeholders involved in the just transition of the steel industry.
It also supports engagement with stakeholders essential for the transformation of steel regions and may contribute to policy suggestions that advance the digital, green, and circular transformation of steel communities in alignment with the European Green Deal.
The total funding available under this topic is €1,000,000.
Eligible applicants include legal entities such as public or private bodies, undertakings, public authorities, research organisations, higher or secondary education establishments, and other organisations carrying out or supporting research and technological development activities.
Applicants must be established in eligible countries, including European Union Member States, overseas countries and territories associated with the European Union, and non-EU countries associated with the Research Fund for Coal and Steel.
