The SME Fund has opened its first call for applications to support MSMEs in Namibia with funding and business assistance aimed at strengthening enterprise growth, innovation, competitiveness, and job creation under the ProSME Project implemented in partnership with NIPDB, NPC, and GIZ.
The key focus areas, objectives, and priorities of this opportunity include strengthening MSME sustainability, promoting innovation and value addition, enhancing competitiveness, supporting job creation, and advancing inclusive economic development across all 14 regions of Namibia, with special emphasis on youth-led and women-led enterprises as well as businesses demonstrating sustainability and export potential.
The SME Fund invites applications from Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises operating across all sectors in Namibia. The programme is designed to support enterprises that show strong potential for growth, innovation, and long-term viability while contributing to broader economic development goals.
Eligible applicants must be formally registered and compliant with all relevant authorities, including BIPA and NAMRA, and must be Namibian-owned. Businesses must have been operational for at least one year and maintain a functional business bank account. Applicants are also expected to demonstrate a viable and sustainable business model supported by evidence of ongoing business activity through an existing product, service, or prototype.
The fund classifies eligible enterprises as micro, small, or medium businesses based on defined turnover thresholds, ensuring targeted support across different business stages.
Applicants are required to submit key documentation, including BIPA and SSC registration documents, tax clearance certificates, financial statements or projections, and a business pitch deck of up to 12 slides. The pitch deck should outline the problem statement, market opportunity, business model, marketing strategy, financial projections, team structure, and funding request.
The programme prioritizes enterprises that are youth-led or women-led and those contributing to innovation, sustainability, value addition, export growth, and employment creation across Namibia’s regions.
