Deadline: Ongoing
The Quick Response Grants Program provides year-round funding to support time-sensitive, small-scale initiatives that address urgent needs within priority communities in the City of Sydney.
The funding priorities include emergency support for community, cultural and sustainability projects; resilience and readiness for communities to respond to shocks; support for residents and teams representing the local area in sporting, academic or environmental fields; and minor capital works, equipment upgrades and acoustic upgrades for cultural venues. The program prioritises projects that assist communities experiencing heightened inequality and barriers to social, economic, cultural, political and environmental resources, services and support.
This program is designed to respond quickly to immediate community needs by offering cash funding of up to $5,000 for projects delivered within a period of up to four months. It is open all year, enabling individuals and organisations to apply when urgent situations arise.
Eligible applicants must operate within the City of Sydney local government area or demonstrate significant benefits for the area’s residents, workers and visitors. Applicants may include eligible not-for-profit organisations, incorporated associations, partnerships, sole traders, individuals without an ABN, and unincorporated community groups that are auspiced by an eligible not-for-profit organisation. For-profit entities are also eligible to apply under this program.
Applicants working with an auspicing organisation are encouraged to partner with one that is relevant to their sector and capable of supporting the development of their proposal. The program particularly encourages applications from organisations, groups and individuals that support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and culture, including community-controlled organisations and networks.
