The Prototype and Concept Scheme provides funding to support innovators in developing prototypes, validating business ideas, and advancing research outputs with strong commercialisation potential.
The focus of PCS is on validating innovative technologies with promising commercial potential, supporting prototype development to establish proof of concept, obtaining professional opinions on the scope of Intellectual Property (IP) protection, and assessing the potential for integration into a marketable product or process.
This scheme, projects can receive funding of up to MUR 2 million for a maximum duration of 24 months. The scheme aims to assist innovators in transforming research outputs and ideas into viable prototypes and commercially relevant solutions.
Eligible applicants include Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), large companies, start-up companies, state-owned companies, associations including NGOs and NPOs registered with the Registrar of Associations, cooperatives registered with the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, and research or higher education institutions in collaboration with companies.
