Deadline Date: March 16, 2026
The Seed Funding Grants program aims to support Northern Territory writers, directors, and producers in exploring the potential of their creative ideas through the development of a treatment, proposal, and supporting materials.
The program prioritizes helping practitioners bring their concepts to life and develop strong foundations for future projects. Focus areas include feature films, adult and children’s drama and narrative comedy including television series, miniseries, telemovies, and web series, as well as content-rich factual or documentary television and web programs.
Applicants can access up to $5,000 per application to assist in the early stages of project development. The program is open to both experienced practitioners and emerging practitioners, including those who do not yet have an eligible screen credit of at least 10 minutes in duration. Emerging practitioners are required to submit additional materials demonstrating their capabilities, and Screen Territory may recommend the attachment of a mentor or story consultant where appropriate.
The grant provides a crucial opportunity for creatives to refine their project ideas and prepare professional-quality materials that can attract further investment or support. By focusing on the early development phase, the program encourages innovation and the nurturing of original content within the Northern Territory’s screen industry. Applicants are encouraged to present clear, compelling treatments or proposals to maximize their chances of receiving funding.
