Deadline Date: May 18, 2026
The FACTOR Sponsorship program provides financial support to music-related projects and events that are not covered under other program mandates.
The program is designed to provide flexible support to initiatives that enrich the Canadian music industry, particularly those that highlight diverse voices and foster community engagement. Applicants are encouraged to propose projects that align with these objectives to maximize their chances of funding.
The program focuses on new and genre-specific music festivals, broadcaster conferences, workshops, artist development programs, industry association events, and international showcases. Extra consideration is given to projects and events that largely benefit underserved communities, audiences, and genres, including Northern, remote, and rural communities; Indigenous peoples and Indigenous artists; Black artists and Artists of Colour; and artists identifying as LGBTQ2S.
Any Canadian person, company, or organization with an appropriate project is eligible to apply, and funding of up to $30,000 per project is available. Canadian-owned and controlled companies may apply for funding towards events or projects that benefit a number of different copyright holders. Applicants cannot receive funding from the Collective Initiatives program and the Sponsorship program for the same project, or elements of the same project, in the same fiscal year, and applicants are only eligible to receive funding twice towards the same project.
Certain projects and events are not eligible for funding under the Sponsorship program, including award shows, BIA festivals, charities and fundraisers, children’s music programming, food and beverage festivals, instrument purchases, music schools, parades, sports events or tournaments, student projects, talent contests, projects which benefit only one company or one artist, projects involving the creation or release of sound recordings, and applicants who have received funding via the Promoter Program or Company Envelope programs.
