The Digitalise Your SME grant provides non-repayable funding to support enterprises in Malta to adopt new digital capabilities and digitalised processes, enhancing resilience, efficiency, productivity, and customer experience.
The scheme focuses on promoting entrepreneurship, facilitating the economic exploitation of new ideas, fostering the creation of new firms, and reaping the benefits of digitisation for citizens, companies, research organisations, and public authorities. It falls under Policy Objective 1 of the SFC2021 Programme 2021–2027, aiming to create a more competitive and smarter Europe through innovative economic transformation, regional ICT connectivity, and smart digitalisation.
The grant supports investment in digital capabilities across all areas of operations, including product and process design and engineering, end-to-end procurement, supply chain and distribution, and after-sales services. By adopting digital technologies, SMEs can explore new business models, improve networking, enhance customer acquisition, and drive intelligent work and production processes.
The scheme remains open until 31 December 2026, subject to the availability of funds, with an initial budget of €5,000,000, including contributions from the Malta Digital Innovation Authority. Eligible grant amounts range from a minimum of €10,000 to a maximum of €128,400 per undertaking, with an additional 7% flat rate to cover indirect costs related to the investment.
Eligible undertakings include Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises engaged in economic activities, including Start-ups, provided they have legal personality or are registered under the Second Schedule of the Civil Code. The scheme aims to strengthen Malta’s digital economy, enhance SME competitiveness, and support sustainable business growth through targeted digitalisation investments.
