The United Nations Development Programme is now accepting grant applications to support small business projects that strengthen entrepreneurship and local economic development in pilot communities.
Priority areas for projects include the production of goods, services demanded by the local population, agribusiness and processing of agricultural products, artisanal, creative and innovative initiatives, and projects that increase employment opportunities for women, youth, and people with disabilities.
The competition targets entrepreneurs and companies operating in Yangiabad (Tashkent region) and Chorkesar (Namangan region), with a particular encouragement for women-led initiatives. Successful applicants can receive funding from 5,000 to 10,000 US dollars, with larger-scale projects of high social impact also considered. Financing may cover equipment and resources needed to launch or expand business initiatives.
Applicants must be registered entrepreneurs or companies, implement projects in the pilot cities, and submit a full set of documents, including an application form and business project description. Co-financing from the applicant, including labor, equipment, financial resources, raw materials, or other contributions, is required. Businesses engaged in retail trade, real estate rental, or those undergoing liquidation or bankruptcy are not eligible.
