The Swiss Re Foundation is inviting applications for its Incubating Resilience with Shine UK Program from social entrepreneurs working to solve problems related to natural hazards, climate risk and healthcare access.
Shine, their regional social entrepreneurship programme, supports next-generation social innovators in translating their solutions into scalable business models to maximise social impact. Shine accelerates their entrepreneurial journey by providing an ecosystem of Swiss Re business experts and leadership coaches to guide and support them.
The winning applicant undergoes an immersive learning programme, that brings them together with a diverse, skilled team of top talents from Swiss Re to develop a strategic, financially viable business plan.
Focus Areas
- The impact areas of the applicant must be aligned with Swiss Re Foundation’s strategic areas given below:
- Transformation to net-zero (renewable energy, afforestation, recycling etc.)
- Healthy nutrition
- Access to health
- Climate-smart agriculture
- Disaster risk reduction

Funding Information
- Financial grant of up to GBP 30000 to scale the solution.
Eligibility Criteria
- Innovation
- Applicants must display high levels of innovation in their product, service and/or delivery.
- The solution must be focused and should address critical social/ecological challenge.
- Maturity
- Applicant should be an early-stage enterprise that has an established proof of concept for its offering and is looking to accelerate its growth.
- Mission and purpose
- Applicants must have a strong social purpose & commitment with an outcome focused approach to the impact area.
