Deadline Date: August 10, 2026
The City of Greater Geelong’s Clean Economy Grants support organisations in developing clean economy solutions that create environmental benefits for the Geelong community.
The grants focus on establishing proof of concept for circular technologies and clean economy solutions that help recycle, reduce and/or remove waste streams in business and manufacturing operations including food and manufacturing waste, e-waste and packaging; reduce energy use and energy costs; improve soil ecology production and land management in the agriculture sector including soil remediation; reduce greenhouse gas emissions and support net zero outcomes; reduce water consumption, improve water efficiency and/or reuse water; and develop sustainable building materials with low embodied energy and/or made from renewable waste or recycled resources.
Applicants may request up to $25,000, with a total funding pool of $50,000 available for the grant round. Applications are competitive, and meeting the eligibility requirements does not guarantee funding. Projects must not begin before notification and a signed funding agreement, and funded activities must be completed within 12 months of signing the agreement.
The Clean Economy Grants are designed to help eligible organisations establish clean economy business solutions that contribute to a transition towards sustainable practices. The funding supports initiatives that address climate change mitigation and adaptation, encourage renewable solutions and complement the move towards a circular economy.
Eligible applicants must be based in Greater Geelong, intend to work with suppliers located in Greater Geelong to deliver the project, and must be an incorporated not-for-profit organisation, registered charitable organisation, higher education institution, business, or an individual operating as a sole trader with an active ABN.
