The Small Business Recovery Assistance Grant Program is providing financial support to eligible small and family businesses affected by disaster events.
The program focuses on providing financial assistance to small and family businesses, supporting business recovery after disaster events, helping businesses continue trading, and assisting eligible businesses that have experienced significant disruption or revenue loss.
The grant offers a single up-front payment of up to $15,000, excluding GST, to support eligible businesses in their recovery.
To qualify, businesses must have fewer than 20 employees at both the time of the disaster and the time of application, an annual turnover of less than $10 million, an active Australian Business Number (ABN), and be registered for GST at both the time of the disaster and the time of application.
Eligible businesses must be located within the Barcoo, Boulia, Bulloo, Diamantina, Longreach, Murweh, Paroo, Quilpie, or Winton local government areas. They must also have been actively trading immediately before the disaster, intend to continue operating after the disaster, and not be insolvent or have owners or directors who are undischarged bankrupt.
Applicants must demonstrate that, for a consecutive period of at least 14 days due to the specified disaster event, their business was either completely unable to conduct trading activities or experienced a revenue decrease of at least 60% compared with the same 14-day period in 2024.
