The Thailand-Australia Venture Exchange Program is inviting eligible agrifood startups and small-to-medium enterprises to apply for its 12-week exchange programme.
The programme focuses on strengthening innovation ecosystem connectivity between Australia and Thailand, supporting sustainable agrifood systems development, exploring reciprocal market opportunities, developing effective go-to-market strategies, engaging with research and industry partners, building market readiness, generating future food knowledge and technology, strengthening scientific capability, stimulating growth in the agrifood sector, improving sustainability and nutrition, and promoting knowledge exchange and collaborative learning.
The Thailand-Australia Venture Exchange Program (VEP) connects Thai and Australian agrifood startups and SMEs with research, industry, and market opportunities across both countries. Three rounds of the programme will be delivered during 2026 and 2027, with a focus on sustainable agrifood systems development.
Participating teams receive intensive coaching, mentoring, market familiarisation visits, and opportunities to attend events designed to strengthen capabilities, foster partnerships, and support business growth in new markets.
The programme encourages organisations to develop solutions that address sustainable agrifood systems challenges, including improving the scalability and affordability of functional and novel foods, enhancing food safety, supporting consumer health and wellbeing, creating value from local produce and knowledge, increasing consumer trust, optimising aquaculture systems through feed innovation, and proposing other technologies that align with sustainable agrifood systems development.
Eligible applicants must be organisations incorporated in Australia with an ABN and ACN, or an incorporated trustee applying on behalf of a trust. Applicants must have fewer than 200 employees and have, or be actively developing, a solution that aligns with one or more of the programme’s challenge statements.
Individuals, partnerships, unincorporated associations, trusts, government agencies or bodies, government business enterprises, and non-corporate Commonwealth entities are not eligible to apply.
