The FCI4Africa Open Call 1 is designed to provide financial support to research and technology stakeholders to develop, test, and enhance innovative tools and solutions within the FCI4Africa project framework.
The key priorities of this call include testing and improving existing business concepts and tools developed under the project’s use cases, developing new ideas and solutions to address specific FCI4Africa challenges, and generating datasets that support the refinement of tools, methodologies, and business models.
The FCI4Africa Open Call 1 (OC1) focuses on strengthening innovation across research and technology ecosystems by supporting targeted sub-projects. It aims to encourage advancements that directly contribute to improving project outcomes and building more effective technological and methodological frameworks.
Under this call, funding is available for research and technology stakeholders including universities, research institutes, technology developers, R&D SMEs, innovation-driven start-ups, and other multidisciplinary actors. The initiative allows only single applicants, with no consortia permitted.
A total of eight sub-projects will be funded under OC1, with an overall budget of €400,000. Each selected sub-project may receive funding of up to €50,000, enabling focused development and validation of innovative ideas and tools.
The projects supported under this call are expected to generate valuable data that will help refine existing systems and contribute to the overall improvement of business concepts and methodologies within the FCI4Africa framework.
