The Grant for Agroecology Program (GAP) Challenge Fund provides support to agroecology-focused enterprises through business grants aimed at scaling investments and strengthening producer-led businesses across India.
The program focuses on supporting Producer Organization Enterprises (POEs), cooperatives, registered producer collective enterprises, micro and small enterprises (MSEs), for-profit enterprises, start-up organizations, and individual entrepreneurs with registered business entities that contribute to agroecological development and benefit small and marginal producers.
The GAP Challenge Fund is a time-bound business grant announced quarterly at the pan-India level. The funding amount ranges from more than INR 1 Crore (10 million) up to INR 2 Crore (20 million) for eligible enterprises seeking investment support.
Eligible applicants include Producer Organization Enterprises (POEs) such as Producer Companies, Cooperatives, and other registered producer collective enterprises that have been in business operations for at least two years. For-profit enterprises, including start-ups, and individual entrepreneurs with registered business entities may also apply. While non-profit organizations and NGOs may assist in preparing applications, they cannot apply independently.
