Deadline Date: June 11, 2026
The United Nations Global Marketplace is seeking applications to enhance collaboration with media and faith-based organizations to prevent gender-based violence and promote gender equality in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The focus areas include elimination of discrimination against women and girls, empowerment of women, gender equality, prevention of gender-based violence, survivor protection, responsible media reporting, engagement of faith-based organizations, and promotion of human rights-based communication approaches aligned with international standards.
The assignment is designed to support structured analytical and capacity-building work aimed at improving collaboration between media and faith-based actors in addressing gender-based violence. It operates within the EU IPA–funded Gender and Social Assistance Programme framework and is aligned with European Union Delegation requirements for implementation, monitoring, and reporting. The scope of work includes stakeholder mapping and analytical assessment of media professionals and faith-based institutions across Bosnia and Herzegovina, including religious communities, interreligious dialogue platforms, educational institutions, humanitarian organizations, and affiliated groups.
The assignment also includes the development of practical tools such as media guidelines for responsible reporting on gender-based violence, emphasizing survivor protection, appropriate language, and trauma-informed approaches. In addition, a faith-sensitive messaging framework will be developed to support religious leaders in communicating messages aligned with human rights standards during sermons, religious holidays, and community activities. To ensure effective application, three capacity-building and dialogue sessions will be organized to bring together media and faith-based actors, supported by UN Women through logistical arrangements while the contractor handles facilitation and reporting responsibilities.
Eligible service providers must have at least five years of relevant organizational experience in media, communications, gender-based violence prevention, or faith-based engagement. They must also demonstrate experience in at least two relevant projects involving guideline development or communication frameworks in gender equality or GBV prevention within the last five years, along with at least three years of experience managing complex projects with multiple deliverables.
