The Lanarkshire Community Led Local Development Fund invites eligible local community organisations within the rural area in north and south Lanarkshire to submit inquiries for short-term small-scale community-based funding that aims to improve the quality of life and economic prosperity in their local area.
Themes
- Applications should demonstrate in the application form how they align with one or more of the Lanarkshire CLLD Themes that link closely with the Scottish Government priorities the themes are:
- Theme One: Stronger Communities
- Theme Two: Prosperous Communities
- Theme Three: Healthy and Active Communities
- Theme Four: Sustainable Environmental Communities
- Projects should also show how they relate to one or more specific Scottish Government priorities:
- Helping families and services through the cost-of-living crisis
- Rural Poverty, including eradicating child poverty
- Transforming the economy to deliver net zero
- Creating sustainable public services
- Covid recovery
- Community wealth building
- Wellbeing Economy
- Local democracy and governance, community empowerment
- Inclusive growth (includes Community-Led Tourism)
- Rural entrepreneurial activity
- Young Person’s Guarantee, Green Skills and Fair Work
Funding Information
- 100% of eligible project costs up to a maximum of £5,000.
- Project applications must demonstrate that projects can be delivered, with all expenditures and claims completed by Friday 14 March 2025.
Eligible Costs
- Equipment
- Specialist activity equipment
- New equipment that will enhance the capacity of the organisation
- ICT equipment relating to e-enablement or improving efficiency
- Fixtures and fittings including furniture and floor coverings
- Set-up costs including furniture and fittings
- Materials for community use
- Provide bikes, and scooters for cycling and community groups
- Reduce energy use in community buildings
- Set up a community reuse or recycle scheme
- Set up projects to support recycling or waste reduction
- Initiatives to increase local biodiversity like native tree planting
- Establish community clean-up projects
- Community facility improvement
- Community/sports facilities, for example, purchasing specialist equipment
- Community gardens: planting materials, tools, equipment
- Direct project costs
- sessional worker costs
- volunteer expenses
Non-eligible Project Costs
- Salaries and employment costs
- General organisation core overheads, including stationary, telephone and postage charges
- Premises rental, utilities costs or service charges
- Building overhead or repair costs
- Works being carried out as a statutory requirement
- Costs in respect of the provision of accountancy services relating to the carrying out of audit work
- Legal costs in respect of litigation
- Recoverable VAT
- Costs incurred before the official acceptance of the formal offer of grant
- Loan or finance and hire purchase arrangements charges
- Bad debts
- Gifts
Eligibility Criteria
- Community and voluntary organisations
- Social enterprises, charities, not-for-profit organisations
- School PTAs.
Assessment Criteria
- Applications will be assessed within 7 working days against four criteria.
- Fit with the CLLD Priorities
- Deliverability within the timescale
- Value for money
- Need for funding.
