Deadline Date: October 16, 2026
The EIT Regional Innovation Scheme (RIS) is inviting proposals for Innovation Projects that aim to strengthen Europe’s raw materials value chain by supporting sustainable and innovative solutions across RIS-eligible countries.
The focus areas of this call include exploration, sustainable mining, processing, circularity, recycling, and substitution. The programme also supports the development of new technologies, products, services, and business models within the raw materials value chain while strengthening local innovation ecosystems, building skills and capacity, and encouraging innovation-driven growth.
Innovation projects should have a duration of one to two years and require co-funding, with the percentage depending on the technology readiness level (TRL) and project type. Selected projects can receive between €800,000 and €1 million, covering up to 70% of project costs.
The call is open to startups, SMEs, large companies, universities, research centres, NGOs, government agencies, and public institutions. In addition to funding, participants will receive proposal guidance, matchmaking support, and access to Europe’s extensive raw materials innovation network.
To be eligible, each consortium must include at least two organisations from different RIS-eligible countries, represent at least two sides of the knowledge triangle—education, research, and business—and have a lead partner based in an RIS-eligible country.
