The Asia New Zealand Foundation Te Whītau Tūhono is offering up to eight young Southeast Asian agribusiness entrepreneurs and business leaders the opportunity to visit New Zealand and attend the Southern Hemisphere’s largest agricultural event, Fieldays.
The week-long programme will give participants better understanding of New Zealand’s world-renowned agriculture sector, a chance to interact with fellow entrepreneurs working in agribusiness and gain insights to connect their own businesses internationally.
About the Trip
Trip Dates: 6-13 June 2024
- Successful applicants will meet New Zealand agribusiness entrepreneurs and business leaders, develop a greater knowledge of the agricultural sector within New Zealand, and explore ways to collaborate with entrepreneurs from New Zealand.
- During the trip you will:
- learn about the New Zealand business environment, specifically with regards to agriculture
- meet and network with entrepreneurs and business leaders from New Zealand
- meet with government officials from New Zealand and ASEAN
- connect the Asia New Zealand Foundation’s Leadership Network and Foundation stakeholders, including past participants of the YBLI programme
- take time to learn about New Zealand culture
- attend Fieldays, the southern Hemisphere’s largest agricultural event
- By going on this trip, you will:
- grow your awareness and knowledge of doing business in New Zealand
- deepen your connections with key industry leaders and entrepreneurs
- grow confidence as an entrepreneur and of succeeding offshore.
- The Foundation will work with the New Zealand diplomatic posts in ASEAN to deliver the programme.
Costs
- The Asia New Zealand Foundation will fund the costs of successful applicant, including:
- a return economy airfare
- domestic transport
- accommodation
- most meals and miscellaneous expenses.
- Participants will need to cover their own personal spending money, any visas and travel insurance (mandatory).
Who can apply?
- Applicants must be:
- aged under 40
- able to demonstrate leadership in their field and a working level proficiency of English language ability
- an entrepreneur or business leader at CEO or senior management level involved in agriculture from one of the ASEAN countries
- be based in and have citizenship of one of the ASEAN member countries
- be interested in connecting with equivalents from other countries and exploring international business opportunities
- be confident public speakers willing to engage in dialogue with entrepreneurs from other countries
- be willing to contribute to the relationship between New Zealand and ASEAN.
- Outstanding start-up entrepreneurs or emerging entrepreneurs will also be considered. No knowledge or experience of New Zealand is required.
