Deadline Date: July 31, 2026
The Ski for Life is inviting applications to support community-led mental health, wellbeing, and suicide prevention initiatives that create practical and measurable impact across rural and regional Australia.
The focus areas include mental health awareness, suicide prevention, community wellbeing, rural and regional support, community engagement, stigma reduction, social connection, locally delivered initiatives, and practical wellbeing outcomes through conversation and community participation.
The programme aims to support projects and programmes that directly benefit target communities while challenging the stigma surrounding mental health and suicide. Through community engagement and awareness-building activities, Ski for Life seeks to promote strategies that encourage positive mental health and wellbeing.
Funding is available for projects that are community-led, locally delivered, focused on mental health and suicide prevention, and designed to support rural and regional communities. Supported initiatives are expected to deliver practical and measurable outcomes within the grant period.
The programme does not provide funding for wages and salaries except for presenters or guest speakers, staff or volunteer travel expenses, infrastructure projects, materials and equipment, private or corporate projects, applications from other charities, or projects located in metropolitan areas.
Eligible applicants must hold an Australian Business Number (ABN) or have a recognised relationship with a legal entity that has an ABN. Applicants must also complete the project within 12 months of receiving funding, ensure the project has not already started, provide financial and acquittal documentation after project completion, and return any unused funds.
