Deadline Date: June 19, 2026
The Government of Canada is seeking grant applications to support research and development projects between Canada and Singapore aimed at developing innovative, commercially viable technologies and solutions.
The focus areas include artificial intelligence, digital technologies, biotechnology, green technology, supply chain logistics, marine economy, robotics, advanced materials, quantum technologies, agritech, food security, and innovation-driven product and process development.
The main objective of this call for proposals is to encourage joint Canada–Singapore collaboration in industrial R&D projects that have strong commercialization potential. It seeks to bring together consortia of organizations from both countries to develop new or improved products, processes, or technology-based services.
The funding supports collaborative projects that demonstrate innovation, market potential, and cross-border research cooperation. Canadian SMEs may receive funding of up to CAD 500,000 for project durations ranging from 12 to 24 months.
Eligible Canadian applicants must be incorporated, profit-oriented SMEs with 500 or fewer employees and at least 12 months of operational history. They must also have a minimum operational capacity, including at least five full-time employees in Canada, and demonstrate financial and technical ability to carry out international R&D collaboration.
Preference may be given to SMEs with stronger capacity, including those with at least 15 employees, prior international commercialization experience, and annual revenues exceeding CAD 500,000.
Applicants are expected to form project consortia and demonstrate the ability to develop and commercialize innovative technologies while maintaining ongoing business operations and expanding into global markets.
