RFPs: Downtown Boro’s Small Business Grant Program (US)

Wilkes Economic Development Corporation is a recipient of the Duke Energy Foundation’s Small Business Support Grant Program. Funding from the foundation is being distributed through the Downtown Boro’s Small Business Grant Program.

Funding Information

• You can win up to $5,000 from the Downtown Boro’s Grant Program!
• Please note that Grant funds are reimbursed after you pay for the approved items or services. You must submit receipts for reimbursement, and only pre-approved expenses will be covered.

Eligible Expenses

• Funding may be used to modify equipment or physical space, improve e-commerce capabilities for online sales, or expand capacity for delivering goods and services. Expenditures may include furniture for expanded seating, renovations, accessibility compliance, and other equipment or tools needed to grow the small business successfully.

Ineligible Expenses

• Payroll, rent, and utilities are NOT eligible expenses.

Eligibility Criteria

• If you are a downtown business in North Wilkesboro or Wilkesboro that has been operating for more than a year, then you are eligible to apply for this program.
• You are eligible as long as your business has been operating for over a year and you are currently in the downtown perimeters of North Wilkesboro or Wilkesboro.
