The Innovation and Technology (I-Tech) Lending Program provides financial support to credit-worthy Filipino inventors through a special lending window that helps commercialize patented inventions in the Philippines.
The program supports projects and business activities that conserve, save, or substitute fossil energy, promote or increase Philippine exports, result in import substitution or dollar savings, produce gadgets or other products that improve efficiency and lower production costs, enhance the use of technology in agricultural and industrial areas, improve productivity in primary industries, increase local material content in imported or manufactured items, contribute to environmental improvement, and other projects that fall under the priority sectors identified by DOST-TAPI.
The LANDBANK-TAPI Innovation and Technology (I-Tech) Lending Program is implemented through the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) to complement the Invention Guarantee Fund (IGF) under Republic Act No. 7459. The program is designed to provide financial assistance for the commercialization of patented inventions by supporting viable projects and business activities that align with the identified priority sectors.
Eligible applicants include registered corporations or partnerships that hold active intellectual property rights such as letters patent, utility model registrations, or industrial design registrations. These intellectual property rights must have at least one year of remaining validity, and the applicant must already be engaged in commercialization activities at the time of application.
Registered business enterprises with an active intellectual property application may also apply for the program. However, financial assistance will only be released after the relevant intellectual property registration has been granted and provided that the registered intellectual property has at least one year of remaining validity at the time of fund disbursement.
The program aims to strengthen innovation-driven enterprises by supporting the commercialization of protected inventions through accessible financing while ensuring that applicants meet the required intellectual property and commercialization conditions.
