Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) is inviting micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in Bosnia and Herzegovina to apply for funding to develop and implement circular business models that enhance competitiveness and sustainability.
The focus areas of this public call include the development and implementation of circular business models, increasing enterprise competitiveness, improving resource and energy efficiency, reducing operating costs, stimulating innovation, supporting the green transition, promoting environmental protection, developing sustainable value chains, enabling efficient use of resources, reducing waste and emissions, encouraging the reuse of materials, introducing secondary raw materials into production, developing circular products and services, and applying digital solutions for process monitoring and optimization.
The public call is launched under the initiative EU for Private Sector Development in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is co-financed by the European Union and the German government and implemented by GIZ. It is designed to help eligible enterprises strengthen their business performance while responding to the growing demands of international markets through sustainable business practices.
A total of 440,061 KM has been allocated under this call. Individual grants range from 9,779 KM to 29,337 KM and can cover up to 60% of the total project value. Applicants are required to contribute at least 40% of the project costs through their own participation. Supported projects are expected to demonstrate a clear contribution to enterprise competitiveness, environmental protection and the development of more sustainable value chains in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Funding is available for projects that improve resource efficiency, reduce waste and emissions, encourage the reuse of materials, integrate secondary raw materials into production, develop circular products and services, and introduce digital solutions for monitoring and optimizing business processes. The call places particular emphasis on practical and applicable solutions that can serve as examples for other companies and sectors.
Export-oriented micro, small and medium-sized enterprises registered in Bosnia and Herzegovina and operating in eligible manufacturing sectors are eligible to apply. The call particularly encourages innovative projects, businesses led by women and young entrepreneurs, and companies that collaborate with secondary vocational schools.
