The United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF), through the FinWise Programme funded by the European Union, invites eligible firms to provide Business Development Services that strengthen the investment readiness, competitiveness, and growth potential of nature-based tourism Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Uganda.
The focus areas include conducting outreach and mobilization of eligible nature-based tourism MSMEs, undertaking business diagnostics and investment readiness assessments, delivering tailored pre-investment Business Development Services, facilitating access to finance, providing post-investment advisory services, integrating digitalization, environmental sustainability and gender-responsive approaches, and monitoring enterprise progress and programme results.
UNCDF seeks to engage qualified Business Development Services providers to deliver investment readiness and post-investment advisory support to nature-based tourism MSMEs under the FinWise Programme. The selected firms will implement an end-to-end enterprise support programme across Uganda’s priority tourism circuits.
The programme will support enterprises through business advisory services, including training, coaching, business plan development, financial projections, and preparation of investment proposals. It will also facilitate connections between investment-ready MSMEs and financial institutions to improve access to finance.
Enterprises that successfully secure financing will receive post-investment advisory support focused on strengthening business performance, financial management, sustainability, and growth. The programme will also promote the adoption of digital solutions, sustainable business practices, and gender-responsive approaches throughout implementation.
The assignment will be implemented over 36 months using a rolling cohort approach. It aims to provide pre-investment readiness services to 800 MSMEs and post-investment advisory support to 200 MSMEs.
The tender is open to firms legally registered in Uganda or international firms that can demonstrate an established local presence and operational capacity in Uganda. Firms that do not meet the eligibility requirements will not be considered.
