Deadline Date: August 31, 2026
Aqua for All has launched a new call for applications to support impact-driven fund managers with catalytic funding to scale investments in water, sanitation, and related sectors across emerging markets while advancing sustainable development.
The call focuses on catalytic funding for impact-driven fund managers, private equity, private debt, infrastructure, natural capital, nature-based solutions, real-asset investment strategies, water, sanitation, sustainable water management, energy and climate nexus sectors, emerging markets, mobilising private capital, technical assistance, environmental and social impact, investments in Least Developed Countries (LDCs), Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs), strong ESG and impact management practices, additionality, capital mobilisation, and advancing Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6).
Aqua for All is seeking to partner with fund managers that have a proven track record of deploying capital effectively in emerging markets. The initiative aims to accelerate investments that improve access to water, sanitation, and sustainable water management while supporting projects that deliver measurable environmental and social outcomes.
Selected fund managers may receive investments ranging from €1 million to €5 million in private funds to help mobilise additional private sector participation. In addition, technical assistance of up to €150,000 is available for fund managers and/or their investees to strengthen implementation and impact. Participants will also have opportunities to engage in knowledge-sharing and visibility activities.
The call is open to fund managers using investment strategies such as private equity, private debt, infrastructure, natural capital, and nature-based solutions or other real-asset approaches. Eligible investment themes include water, sanitation, and sustainable water management, with projects that also address closely related sectors such as energy and climate.
Applicants should demonstrate significant investment exposure in Least Developed Countries and Low- and Middle-Income Countries, with particular emphasis on Africa and Asia. Fund managers are expected to show the ability to absorb investment risk on behalf of private investors, enabling investments that would otherwise not occur while reaching underserved sectors and communities.
Strong potential to mobilise additional private capital through Aqua for All’s investment is an important requirement. Applicants should also have robust environmental, social, and governance (ESG) and impact management practices or demonstrate a credible commitment to developing high-quality ESG and impact standards.
The opportunity is open to both first-time fund managers and established fund managers that meet the eligibility requirements and are committed to expanding sustainable investment in water, sanitation, and related sectors.
