Deadline Date: March 01, 2026
The Moonee Valley City Council is offering Business Projects Grants of up to $10,000 to support small storefront and outdoor space beautification, inclusion initiatives, and collaborative community projects within the municipality.
The grant supports arts projects that benefit the Moonee Valley community such as public murals, arts programs, innovative projects and community exhibitions; project administration costs including salaries, Workcover and superannuation for staff delivering the funded project; and events and festivals that hold an approved and valid permit and are community focused, inclusive, help build neighbourhood connections, celebrate local identity, creatively use public space or non-traditional venues, and demonstrate a high level of reach across the municipality.
Eligible applicants may apply for any amount up to $10,000. Funding can be used for initiatives that enhance storefronts and outdoor business spaces while strengthening inclusion and collaboration within the community. Supported arts and cultural activities are expected to deliver clear community benefit within Moonee Valley. Administrative expenses directly related to delivering the funded project are also eligible under the program.
Events and festivals supported through this grant must meet permit requirements and demonstrate meaningful community engagement. Projects should contribute to neighbourhood connections, celebrate the identity of the local area, and creatively activate public or unconventional spaces. Priority is given to initiatives that reach a broad audience across the municipality, including multiple wards.
To qualify, projects, events or activities must take place within Moonee Valley or support a community group operating within the municipality. For Business Projects Grant applicants, the benefiting business must be located within Moonee Valley.
Community groups, not-for-profit organisations, and individuals with an auspice are eligible to apply. For-profit businesses or organisations are not eligible under general community grants and must apply specifically through the Business Projects Grant stream if seeking support for events. Applicants with outstanding debts, financial or legal disputes with the City of Moonee Valley, or incomplete acquittals under the Community Grants Program are not eligible. Those who currently hold an active Community Grant, have received a grant in the current financial year, or do not hold Public Liability Insurance unless exempted are also ineligible. Applications will not be accepted from individuals or organisations whose values conflict with Council’s commitment to diversity, tolerance and inclusion, or from those who engage in abusive or inappropriate conduct toward Council representatives.
