Deadline Date: February 27, 2026
The Measures and Support Division within the Ministry responsible for the management of Union Funds offers enterprises an opportunity to assess the viability and sustainability of their business ideas through targeted feasibility studies.
The focus areas for this initiative include Health and Well-being, Sustainable Use of Resources for Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation, Smart Manufacturing, Marine & Maritime Technology, Aviation and Aerospace, and Future Digital Technologies.
The Feasibility Study scheme aims to assist enterprises in covering the costs associated with researching new business concepts or ventures. By providing support for these studies, the scheme enables businesses to draw firm conclusions about their projects, identify necessary resources, and assess the prospects for success. This initiative also seeks to promote investment in research and innovation, thereby contributing to an increase in gross R&D expenditure as a percentage of GDP and strengthening research and innovation capacities across Malta during the 2021-2027 programming period.
Eligible undertakings include micro, small, medium-sized, and small mid-cap enterprises engaged in economic activities, regardless of their legal form, provided they meet registration requirements under Maltese law. Each approved undertaking may receive a maximum grant of €100,000, with the total funding available under the scheme amounting to €2,000,000.
Through this support, enterprises are encouraged to foster a culture of innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship, particularly in areas highlighted in Malta’s Smart Specialisation Strategy (S3) 2021-2027. The scheme represents a strategic effort to stimulate growth across various sectors by guiding investments towards research and innovation initiatives that align with national priorities.
