Deadline Date: March 25, 2026
ShiftSweden is driving Sweden’s transformation toward fossil-free and resource-conscious societies by launching a new call for proposals under Impact Innovation to develop attractive and accessible living environments for all.
The call for proposals focuses on three thematic transition labs: building sustainably and flexibly for the future; harnessing momentum in large transformation projects; and transport-efficient and vibrant neighborhoods.
ShiftSweden operates as part of Impact Innovation, an initiative supported by the Swedish Energy Agency, Formas and Vinnova. Through this call, actors are invited to initiate innovation and lab coordination projects within one of the three designated transition labs in urban planning and mobility. The initiative aims to accelerate practical solutions that contribute to sustainable development and resource efficiency in living environments across Sweden.
Funding opportunities vary depending on the type of project proposed. Exploratory innovation projects can apply for up to 3 million SEK. Innovation projects that test and scale solutions are eligible for up to 6 million SEK. Lab-based projects can apply for up to 3.5 million SEK. The total budget allocated for this call amounts to 85 million SEK.
The call welcomes a broad range of participants, including actors from the public sector, business sector, civil society and research organisations. Innovation projects must include at least one actor that demonstrates a clear need for and benefit from the project’s outcomes, ensuring that proposed solutions are grounded in real-world demand and application.
Through these transition labs, ShiftSweden seeks to strengthen collaboration and accelerate innovation in urban planning and mobility, contributing to Sweden’s long-term ambition of sustainable and inclusive living environments.
