Deadline Date: June 02, 2026
The Swedish Energy Agency is inviting grant applications to accelerate the commercialisation of innovations by enabling real-world testing and customer-driven validation.
The key priorities of this programme include accelerating the transition of innovations towards commercial readiness, strengthening customer validation processes, demonstrating clear customer benefit and business potential, supporting energy system transformation through efficiency and fossil-free solutions, and enabling scaling towards larger pilot or demonstration phases.
This call is designed to support product and service innovations that contribute to a more sustainable energy system. It focuses on solutions that promote energy efficiency, flexibility, access to fossil-free energy, and system robustness while also demonstrating strong customer value and market potential.
To be eligible, solutions must be at a technical maturity level between TRL 4 and TRL 7 at the start of the project. This ensures that innovations are sufficiently developed for real-world testing and validation with customers, while still requiring further refinement before full commercialisation.
The programme supports activities carried out directly with customers to develop and verify innovations, ensuring that customer involvement plays a central role in the project. These activities are expected to form a significant part of the overall work. It also supports business development activities such as creating or improving business plans, financing strategies, and strategies for managing intangible assets.
Funding of approximately 30 million kronor is available under this call. Each project may receive up to 3 million SEK, with a requirement for co-financing. Certain business development activities may be funded at up to 100 percent support.
Projects can begin no earlier than 15 August 2026 and no later than 1 December 2026, and may run for a maximum duration of 24 months. Projects may also begin before final decisions are made, subject to timing constraints.
The programme is open to small and medium-sized enterprises, including start-ups, provided they have ownership or disposal rights to the solution. Only one application per company is permitted, ensuring focused participation across applicants.
Overall, this initiative plays an important role in bridging the gap between innovation development and market deployment by enabling customer-driven validation and commercial preparation of sustainable energy solutions.
