Embark Startup Development Program for Diverse Communities (US)

Deadline Date: June 07, 2026

The Embark program is currently accepting applications to support early-stage entrepreneurs from diverse communities through mentorship, funding, and business development opportunities.

The programme focuses on entrepreneurship support for Black, Indigenous, Latina/o/x, and Asian American and Pacific Islander communities, early-stage business development, outdoor products and services, mentorship and expert guidance, startup collaboration and networking, financial support through grants, racial equity and inclusion, innovation in outdoor lifestyles, and support for businesses involving gear, apparel, furniture, mobile applications, e-commerce, retail, outdoor experiences, food and beverage, skincare, and related services.

Embark is a three-month virtual programme created to help new and aspiring entrepreneurs turn early-stage ideas into viable businesses. The initiative supports founders from underrepresented communities by providing structured guidance, mentorship, and opportunities for collaboration.

The programme brings together up to 20 early-stage entrepreneurs, creating a community where participants can share experiences, learn from one another, and build accountability partnerships. Throughout the programme, founders participate in workshops, fireside chats, and office hours led by industry experts, startup professionals, and domain specialists.

Participants also receive valuable feedback on their business ideas and strategies. Upon successful completion of the programme, founders are awarded a $5,000 grant to support the development and growth of their companies.

The initiative is part of Path Ahead Ventures, which was established to advance racial equity and address barriers faced by founders of color in the outdoor industry. The programme supports businesses that inspire and equip people in their outdoor lives through products, services, and experiences.

Eligible applicants include individuals with business ideas at the design or prototype stage or founders who started a company within the last year with limited revenue and no manufacturing activity. Applicants must identify as members of Black, Indigenous, Latina/o/x, or Asian American and Pacific Islander communities, be based in the United States, and be at least 18 years old.
