The Measures and Support Division is seeking applications from Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises to support the digitalisation of business operations through non-repayable grants aimed at improving resilience, productivity, efficiency, and customer experience through advanced digital technologies and digitalised processes.
The programme focuses on promoting entrepreneurship, supporting innovative and smart economic transformation, improving regional ICT connectivity, strengthening digital capabilities, enhancing product and process design and engineering, improving procurement and supply chain systems, advancing after-sales processes, supporting cloud computing, artificial intelligence, big data analysis, cyber security, Internet of Things technologies, and enabling smarter and more connected business operations.
The Digitalise your SME initiative provides non-repayable grants to support Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in digitalising their operations. The scheme is designed to help enterprises improve operational efficiency, strengthen productivity, and enhance customer experience through investments in digital technologies and processes. The programme supports businesses operating in eligible economic sectors and encourages the adoption of innovative digital solutions to improve competitiveness in the global marketplace.
The scheme has an initial allocated budget of €5,000,000. Grant values under the programme range from a minimum of €10,000 up to a maximum of €128,400, including an additional 7% flat rate for indirect costs related to the investment. Applications submitted under the de minimis regulation are eligible for funding support of up to 50% for investments in Malta and up to 60% for investments in Gozo.
The programme supports expenditure related to commercial off-the-shelf and custom software, hardware such as laptops and tablets, analytical tools, cyber security systems, cloud computing solutions, Internet of Things technologies, artificial intelligence solutions, big data analysis systems, routers and WiFi equipment, quantum technology, and other eligible digital solutions. Installation and training costs included within the purchase price of the eligible investment may also qualify for support.
Eligible applicants include Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises engaged in an eligible economic activity, irrespective of legal form. Under the Start-up category, eligible applicants must be Micro or Small Enterprises classified as start-ups and engaged in economic activity. Applicants must comply with applicable EU and national legislation, including fiscal and social security obligations.
