The Vitalization Grant Program was established to support businesses and organizations in enhancing the exterior appearance of their properties. It aims to promote permanent upgrades that align with the architectural wood and stone theme of the Town of Whitecourt Vitalization Plan.
The program contributes to the revitalization of Whitecourt by supporting improvements in the downtown core and along the Highway 43 corridor. It encourages businesses to enhance the visual appeal of the community while strengthening local pride and identity.
The program also aims to improve the quality of life for residents by increasing the overall attractiveness of the community. It supports efforts to create a more welcoming environment for both residents and visitors.
Funding covers up to 25% of total project costs, with a maximum grant of $10,000. The program is delivered in two phases, with initial eligibility focused on businesses in the downtown core and Highway 43 corridor, followed by expanded eligibility if funds remain available.
Eligible applicants include businesses and organizations located in designated areas within Whitecourt, including the downtown core and surrounding zones as defined in the program phases.
