The PAX Market Support Program is seeking applications to support NSW-based independent game developers by providing funding assistance to showcase digital games at PAX Australia 2026.
The program focuses on accelerating the growth of the NSW digital games sector, supporting independent game companies, increasing industry recognition, attracting investment opportunities, enhancing career development and visibility for game developers, improving sustainability of the digital games industry, and supporting participation in digital game exhibitions and market events.
The initiative is offered by Screen NSW and PAX Australia and provides funding support for up to 10 eligible NSW-based independent game developers to exhibit their games at PAX Australia in Melbourne from 9–11 October 2026.
Successful applicants will receive a fully subsidised PAX Rising exhibition pod package within a dedicated Screen NSW exhibition section. The total funding pool available under the program is $21,500 excluding GST, with each individual exhibition pod package valued at $2,150 excluding GST.
Eligible applicants include NSW-based companies incorporated and registered in Australia with no more than five full-time equivalent employees, as well as individual applicants over 18 years of age who have resided in NSW for at least six months prior to application. Applicants must hold an active ABN, own or control the rights to the game project, and have a playable game ready for exhibition at PAX Australia 2026.
Applicants are required to attend and manage their exhibition pod during the event and must cover their own travel, accommodation, and related attendance expenses.
Full-time students, educational institutions, government screen agency employees, and applicants in breach of existing NSW Government funding agreements are not eligible to apply.
