Climate Change Partnership Grants support the Geelong community to achieve net zero community emissions and increase resilience to climate change impacts through a co-ordinated and collective response.
The objective of the grants are to support collaborative community-led projects activities that will help them:
- transition to a net zero emissions municipality by 2035
- increase energy efficiency and renewable energy production
- switch to sustainable transport and cleaner fuels
- increase carbon storage
- increase awareness and understanding of climate change impacts
- increase collaboration.
How much can you apply for?
- There is a total grant pool of $180,000 available.
- Applicants may ask for up to $50,000.
What can you apply for?
- Climate mitigation and adaptation projects and activities that will be carried out over a period of one to two financial years.
- These grants are most suitable for groups with the experience and capacity to deliver larger-scale projects with a range of stakeholders, various income sources and longer time frames.
- Applicants must be willing to work in partnership with us to develop their project scope and project plans (that is: budgets, schedule of works). We may request to be involved in the project steering committee.
Who can apply?
- Not-for-profits – incorporated bodies, co-operatives or associations
- Registered charitable organisations – refer to the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission
- Unincorporated bodies with an auspice
- Schools and learning institutions – only if in partnership with at least one other school or not-for-profit organisation
- For-profits – commercial entities, businesses.
