Deadline: Ongoing
The Community Foundation of Staffordshire is inviting applications for its Warm Spaces – Stafford Grant Programme.
Increased costs this year are going to leave many people across their communities with additional cost burdens that may prove to be extremely challenging. Households may be faced with choices between eating healthily, turning the heating on or having to live in cold homes, leading to increased health and wellbeing issues.
There is an established network of food banks and voluntary and community support provision available, but many who have never needed support before may well find themselves caught in the current squeeze. Few areas will be unaffected, many for the first time right the way across the Borough (i.e. rural communities as well as major settlements).
Funding Information
- You will be offered a grant depending on how many days you are able to offer. Please be clear in your application how many days you would like to run a warm space session.
Eligible Projects
- Your project must meet the following aims:
- To support and promote the provision of a network of warm and welcoming spaces for any residents to go to on a regular basis. Visitors to these locations would be able to receive a warm and friendly welcome, a friendly ear to talk with and be listened to, whilst having a warm meal and hot drink. The food and drink might be offered free of charge depending on their individual’s circumstances and the resources available to the provider.
- In short a ‘Warm Space’ would be a safe, heated space that would offer people a period of relief preferably local to them in their community with the opportunity of having a warm meal.
