Deadline Date: July 27, 2026
The Arts and Creativity Grants Program is offering applications to support the development of an agile and sustainable local arts sector by funding creative projects and activities that enable participation and growth across communities within the Northern Beaches local government area.
The program focuses on supporting innovation and growth in the arts through collaboration, strengthening Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural expression, and building the skills of local creative professionals. It also aims to expand access to arts and cultural participation, activate public spaces through creative projects, reflect diverse Northern Beaches stories, and improve representation of people with disability, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, and LGBTQIA+ groups.
Independent projects can receive funding of up to 5,000 AUD (excluding GST), supporting individual artists, creative workers, and small groups developing artistic work or community-based initiatives. Creative sector projects can receive funding of up to 10,000 AUD (excluding GST) and are intended for arts organisations, groups, and creative businesses whose primary income is derived from arts and cultural activity.
Eligible activities may include the production and presentation of new work across art forms, exhibitions, performances, creative programs, collaborations, and professional development opportunities for local communities.
Applicants must be independent artists, groups, creative workers, arts and cultural community organisations, or creative businesses with primary income from arts and cultural activity. Applicants must be based in the Northern Beaches local government area or ensure that the proposed project is delivered within that area. Applicants must be over 18 years of age and hold Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
Certain applicants are not eligible, including state government organisations, political parties, non-arts individuals or organisations, and large arts or creative organisations. Projects that have already occurred, are already funded through another Northern Beaches Council grant program, or relate to operational expenses such as rent, wages, insurance, utilities, and general office costs are not eligible.
Applicants must also have no outstanding acquittals or debts owed to Council and must complete the proposed project within the specified delivery period from 1 November 2026 to 31 December 2027. Online projects may be considered eligible if they demonstrate clear benefit to the Northern Beaches creative sector and community.
