The PEACEPLUS is inviting applications under the Strategic Planning and Engagement investment area to support cross-border cooperation by reducing legal and administrative barriers and strengthening strategic collaboration across relevant sectors.
The focus areas of this call include joint development and management of strategies; cooperation capacity building; identification of solutions; cross-border collaboration; cross-border working; cross-border service provision; cross-border risk management; collaboration and dialogue; feasibility studies and data collection; strategies; pilot project and demonstration initiatives; capacity building and skills research.
The PEACEPLUS Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB), supports peace, reconciliation, and cross-border economic and territorial development across Northern Ireland and the border counties of Ireland. The programme represents a €1.144 billion investment funded through a partnership between the European Union, the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Government of Ireland, and the Northern Ireland Executive.
Under Theme 6: Investment Area 6.1 – Building and Embedding Partnership and Collaboration, this final call aims to enhance cooperation capacity at a strategic level by supporting activities that address challenges affecting cross-border collaboration and socio-economic development.
The call will support projects that identify key obstacles and opportunities, bring relevant actors together, develop solutions, strengthen cross-border entities, and address gaps in essential cross-border data. Supported activities may include collaboration initiatives, feasibility studies, joint strategy development, pilot projects, demonstration activities, training, peer reviews, and staff exchanges.
Eligible sectors may include public administration and the third sector, business, transport, cultural and tourism organisations, health, crisis management, and education.
Eligible applicants include national, regional, and local authorities; development agencies; chambers of commerce; universities and research institutions; NGOs; sectoral agencies; voluntary organisations; public-like organisations; and private sector organisations including micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises and large companies.
The programme area covers Northern Ireland and the border counties of Ireland, including Cavan, Donegal, Leitrim, Louth, Monaghan, and Sligo. Organisations outside the core programme area may participate through partnerships where significant benefits are delivered to the programme area.
A total funding amount of €6 million is available under this final call. Individual projects are expected to receive an indicative allocation of €1 million to €2 million, with grants covering up to 100% of eligible project costs.
