The Start Your Own Business program is a free one-month business intensive that helps community residents turn business ideas into structured plans and prepare for early-stage entrepreneurship.
The focus areas, of the program include business idea development, market and customer analysis, business model creation, financial planning, pricing strategy, sales and marketing skills, digital promotion, legal registration, and preparation for grant funding opportunities.
The program is designed for community residents who want to start a business, self-employed individuals, small and microbusiness owners, internally displaced persons, women seeking income generation, veterans and their families, and anyone with a business idea ready for implementation. It aims to support participants in moving from concept to actionable business execution.
Over the one-month duration, participants will learn how to generate and test business ideas, assess customer needs and local market opportunities, and build a complete business model and business plan. They will also gain skills in calculating costs and revenues, setting pricing strategies, promoting businesses through online tools, managing customer relationships, and understanding basic registration and tax requirements.
The program also helps participants prepare for future grant applications by strengthening their entrepreneurial readiness and practical business planning capabilities.
