Alexandrina Council is inviting applications for the Business Initiatives Grant Program to foster a strong, interconnected, and well-equipped business community that supports visitation and drives regional growth through well-presented and polished online content and images.
Along with this, Council seeks to support their businesses to be ‘application ready’ for State and Federal Grant funding opportunities, having all the necessary documents prepared to accompany their application.
The grant program not only benefits individual businesses but contributes to the prosperity of the Alexandrina Council region as a whole, aiming to attract investments, create job opportunities, and position Alexandrina Council as a hub of innovation and entrepreneurship.
Objective
- The primary objective of this grant program is to assist businesses increase their online presence and build their digital capability to stay competitive.
Funding Information
- The total funding pool allocated to the Business Initiatives Grant program in 2024-25 is $20,000. Eligible entities can apply for up to $2,500.
- A minimum funding request of $1,000 applies to all applications.
- Funded projects must be completed by 31 December 2025. Recipients must sign a Grant Funding Agreement prior to funds being processed which will outline the full terms and conditions of funding. A Grant Evaluation and Acquittal Report must be completed within two months of project completion. Non-compliance may affect eligibility for future grant funding.
Eligible Activities
- Council is seeking to fund small business digital improvement projects which contribute towards Appropriate Growth and help Alexandrina to thrive. Projects should generate economic development benefits for the Alexandrina region, contributing to increased consumer and visitor spend.
- Eligible activities may include:
- Improving digital shopfront appeal to connect with and grow your customer base
- Enabling businesses to book experiences and services online
- Increasing digital capability by improving social media or website performance
- Engaging professional photographers to capture images to enhance your business’s digital library
- Procuring consulting services to prepare necessary documentation to support State and Federal funding applications (e.g. architectural, master or concept plans)
Eligibility Criteria
- The following entity types can apply for Council’s 2024-25 Business Initiatives Grant:
- Established businesses with an ABN located in the Alexandrina Council region, including sole traders
- Incorporated Industry and Business Associations.
